There Are Benefits To Starting Out As a Writer When You’re Older

I wrote a post the other day about what it takes to make a solid living as a full-time working writer. (Spoiler — a full-time amount of work over a long period of time.)
There was one response to that post that really spoke to me. So much that I want to share it and respond to it here.
First, Alice — yes! You got the math right, I think. And that’s half the battle, at least. Writers aren’t notorious for being good at math, so maybe that’s why so many give up before they get to the good stuff.
Second, though, is what I love the most. It’s most definitely not too late.
And, here’s the really good news. You probably won’t have to put twenty years in before you find success. For a couple of reasons.
