Over the next three days, I’m going to walk you through three self-editing tools that are going to improve your NaNoWriMo project (or really, any of your manuscripts) immediately.
Honestly. They’re magical.
You’ll get the first of the tools tomorrow. It’ll be kind of down and dirty–just a fast lesson with a very specific edit to make. Something you’ll be able to actually use tomorrow through your whole book.
I can hear some of you right now.
But, Shaunta, I’m busy. I can’t edit my whole book tomorrow!
I know. I know. But you can get started. And do as much as you can. It’ll still improve your book immediately. If you want to, choose a chunk of your book to work on the next three days. A chapter or two will work just fine.
And there’s one more question out there. I know it.
But, Shaunta, I don’t write fiction. Will this still help me?
It will. I promise. These three edits are something that fiction and nonfiction writers can use.
For now–answer this question in the comments: How much did you get done in November?
And choose the chunk of your book you’re going to edit. If you’re going to edit the whole thing or try to, that’s okay, too. Make a copy of it to work on so that you can compare the results with the original when we’re done.
Love,
Shaunta
I wrote a little over 7k words in November.
This NaNo I did 54,307 words and also got 4 maps , 2 interiors and 3 character images done.
