“It was like he’d been born and raised on Walden Pond where everything was hunky-dory, and I’d come out of the dark demonic woods, same forest, just a different way of looking at things.”
― Bob Dylan, Chronicles: Volume One
Tonight, I watched Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story — a documentary of Dylan’s legendary 1975–1976 concert tour, directed by Martin Scorsese. What a thing it must have been, to catch one of those shows live. Especially the early ones.
I highly recommend the documentary. It was wonderful. I’m always happy to find something that reminds me so clearly that there’s brilliance in the world.
On the advice of Austin Kleon’s awesome newsletter (subscribe, if you haven’t), I searched Twitter to see what people I follow had to say about Dylan and came across this Tweet from Joyce Carol Oates.
