I’m Officially Calling BS on the Idea that The World Doesn’t Need Your Book
That’s a statement no online guru gets to make. Full stop.

I came across an online guru guy’s new manifesto for authors today.
His thesis? We don’t need your book and if you can skip it, you should.
To be honest, I kind of rolled my eyes. What an online guru guy thing to say.
But when I really thought about it, I got a little angry. Because I think that kind of statement can be damaging. It’s self-serving. The guru guy wants to elevate his standing as a guru, of course. So suggesting that he can tell which books are worth writing and which aren’t does that.
And making such a controversial statement drives traffic to his site (and, of course, his products. Including his books, which I’m confident he considers in the ‘needed’ pile.)
