“Everything has a small beginning.”
― Marcus Tullius Cicero
I think that it’s human nature to struggle with the idea of small beginnings. It’s so hard to think about the first step without thinking about the whole marathon, isn’t it? And so it’s hard to take the first step, if we can’t see how we’ll follow through all the way to the end.
Recently, I’ve been talking to a handful of Ninja Writers — a focus group — about the Ninja Writers Club. I’m working with a coach who helped me put together a good, solid description of the club. And I picked some people and asked if they’d take a look at give me feedback.
And some did. So I invited those writers to the join the club.
And some did. (Yay!) But some — most — didn’t. In fact, my goal was ten percent. Not ten percent of the focus group. Ten percent of the part of the focus group who said they were interested. I hit that goal, which means the club has merit (according to my coach.) Again — Yay!
