Today’s writing prompt comes from this handy article provided by Wordpress.
“Share a photo and provide its backstory
Do you enjoy sharing photos related to your business on social media? Try making one of your shots the focus of an entire post. For example, if you’re a photographer who specializes in family portraits, post one of your edited portraits and reveal that it took 50 tries to get a single shot of everyone smiling. Your readers will appreciate that you are a real person who has imperfect, relatable days.”
This prompt was written to be geared towards bloggers writing about their business, but I think it’s one you can do with any photo.
Choose your archetype and use this writing prompt in the following ways (or get creative and let the prompt guide you!):
The Hesitater: Do you have a favorite family photo? Tell us the story behind it. Take us to that moment.
The Teacher: Do you have a special skill? Share a photo of this skill and walk us through how you do it.
The Spiller: Share a photo that evokes an unsettling feeling. Or an extremely happy feeling. Or a devastatingly sad feeling. Tell us about it. If it makes you sad or unsettled, why do you keep it? If it makes you extremely happy, where do you keep it?
The Skipper: Take a photo today that shows us your mundane rituals.
The Artist: Tell a story using only photos.
