Today’s prompt is a photo prompt:
“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”
-- Alexander Graham Bell
Choose your archetype and use this writing prompt in the following ways (or get creative and let the prompt guide you!):
The Hesitater: Write a response to the Alexander Graham Bell quote above. Have you had any doors open for you recently? Have you had any close?
The Teacher: You’ve just had a door open for you unexpectedly. How do you take advantage of it? Why is it important to take advantage of it? Give us some pointers.
The Spiller: Write about a time when you had to push through a closed door. What caused it to be closed in the first place? How did you approach it? Once open, where did it bring you?
The Skipper:Do some research! What’s the symbolism behind doorways?
The Artist: Focus on the pink door in the photo. Where does it take you? Is it a passage to another world? Or a super secret spy room? Maybe there’s a more personal meaning. Start by describing the door, yourself opening it, and go from there. Let your muse run wild!
