Today’s prompt is a Read and Respond:
Vox recently published this Syllabus for the End of the World. Movies, books, and tv shows are providing many people a great comfort right now. If you were to create your own syllabus, what would it look like?
Choose your archetype and respond to this essay in the following ways (or get creative!):
The Hesitater: What are you go to movies or tv shows to binge on a gloomy day?
The Teacher: Teach us how to compile our own syllabus for the end of the world. How can we compile the perfect list to keep us going during this time?
The Spiller: What is the must read/watch/do on your syllabus? How does it correlate with your life? Does it speak or respond to your life in quarantine?
The Skipper: Do some research. What’s trending on Netflix/Hulu/etc.? Do you notice any correlation between these trends and the current pandemic? Are we favoring storylines drastically different from our current real world problems?
The Artist: What does your life look like right now? Summarize it in the style of a book/movie/tv show review or synopsis. Really play up the craziness going on around you.
Leave a link to your published response in the comments!
