My husband and I share a closet that was designed for a child. It’s tiny. I mean. Seriously, it’s really small. Because Kevin mostlywears jeans and flannel shirts, he doesn’t use much of it. He keeps his clothes in a dresser.
We share the smallest bedroom in our house. It was designed for a child, too, so our room has just enough space for our bed and one dresser. I get most of the closet. He gets most of the dresser.
He hangs three shirts. I use one small drawer for my socks and underwear.
Meanwhile, his parents have the master bedroom, which has a sitting room and (no joke) six times as much closet space as we have. They have room for three dressers.
And — here’s the kicker — they wear the same ten pieces of clothing they’ve been wearing the last decade. No matter how many new clothes we offer them. Those new clothes just take up space, tags and all, in all of their lovely space.
